Steps:

  1. Use a pour-over dripper, paper filter, kettle, grinder, and gram scale.
  2. Grind 45 grams of whole-bean coffee to a fine consistency.
  3. Use a 1:17 coffee-to-water ratio to brew approximately 12 cups of coffee.
Heavy & Robust

French Press

Offering a straightforward way to brew coffee, allows for greater control over brewing variables like steeping time and water temperature.

Steps:

  1. Use a French press, grinder, kettle, and scale.
  2. Measure 45 grams of whole-bean coffee and grind to a coarse consistency.
  3. Distribute 800 grams of filtered hot water.
  4. Push down to separate for brewed coffee.

Chemex

Chemex brewing, similar to pour-over, consists of slowly pouring hot water over coffee grounds in a filter, giving you that desired control over factors such as the water temperature and pour rate.

Steps:

  1. Use a Chemex dripper, Chemex paper filter, kettle, grinder, and gram scale.
  2. Grind 45 grams of whole-bean coffee to a fine consistency.
  3. Use a 1:17 coffee-to-water ratio to brew approximately 12 cups of coffee.
Rich & Intense

Espresso

This brew method offers the benefit of extracting rich flavors and aromas quickly by forcing hot water through finely-ground coffee, resulting in a concentrated and intense coffee. 

  • Grind Size: Fine
  • Coffee Amount: 19-21 grams
  • Extraction Time: 23-28 seconds

Steps:

  1. Use an espresso machine, grinder, tamper, and scale.
  2. Grind coffee to a fine consistency.
  3. Distribute and tamp coffee evenly.
  4. Purge water through the machine.
  5. Lock the portafilter and start extraction.
